"Jesus longs for us to understand the splendor of His person and fully grasp the love that compelled him to lay aside his heavenly glory to come to us. He wants us to share that glory with him, regardless of our position in society. All the glory of this day is His. If we receive any recognition today for any accomplishments, it really belongs to Him."
Lord,
I finished this study, but the glory really belongs to you! You are an amazing God and I thank for the blessing this has been in my life. I praise you for the sheer weight of glory you pour into my soul and every situation. Today I want to live in His name - He who is the glorious Lord.

The Amen
"Christ, the Amen, defines finality - in the end Christ's power will determine the outcome of every situation we face. We must live each moment in His "Amen power," literally His power to create. In his name, there is an unlimited supply of power."
I forget this. My life is not limited by what I can do, it's only limited by what God can do. That's unlimited!
Lord,
I step within the circumference of my Lord Jesus' circle of power and grace, knowing that He is your Word Incarnate. All your promises are verified in Him, and I am living today in Him...and in those promises!

The Cornerstone
"If it were left to our human reasoning, we would preempt the possibilities God has in mind for us. Prayer in Jesus' name, the Cornerstone, cements in us this twofold reminder: We can be certain Christ will finish what He is doing in and for us, and we don't need to be able to figure out how He will eventually get the job done. He may even surprise us!"
Boy, howdy. I SO often feel like I need to "help" Jesus! It's amazing how many times I get in the way of what He is doing and has done!
Lord,
I do NOT want to get in the way of you. I believe you will finish your work. Help me to sit down and be quiet instead of telling you how to do your job: running the world. I give you all the plans I have for today...and for my life. Lord, please demolish anything in my life that isn't to your specifications or that doesn't merit your seal of approval. I want to build upon you, Jesus the Cornerstone, knowing that your surprises are better than my carefully laid plans.

The First and the Last
"Christ is the totality of power in our world, as carried out through His people. From start to finish, almightiness and all-loveliness are His. He rules and loves through his people-and He wants to unveil all of Himself to them...To pray in Jesus' name is to saturate our prayers knowing Christ alone is the totality of all we need. Getting answers to our prayers takes second place to meeting Jesus through prayer. He is the beginning and ending of all we could possibly desire. He is the ultimate answer to our prayers."
Lord,
I come to you, caught within time. My days are too short; my trials seem long; so much of life seems scheduled by a clock I want to control but can't. I confess my sins of impatience and haste. I have hurried into situations and created waves of confusion instead of bringing kingdom tranquility. I need you Lord. You who transcend time - you who are both the eternal before time and the infinite afterward - come fill my now.

The Bread of Life
"God's gift of manna provides several distinct insights that help us pray in Jesus' name, the Bread of Life:
1. Each day brought a fresh supply of nourishment. Nothing God has prepared for us is stale. Scriptures that are read today may have been written centuries ago, but in Jesus' Name, they will come alive with new freshness!
2. That fresh supply of nourishment needed to be gathered every morning. A healthy habit of feasting on God's Word requires discipline. It doesn't happen by accident.
3. Each day required a new supply of divine nourishment. God is telling us that we can't live on yesterday's nourishment."
Lord,
Show me how to die to selfishness; that in dying I might be milled in the processes of your work in me and live to become a person who nourishes others - those people in my life God wants me to touch.

The Wisdom of God
"We cannot live the Word, apply the Word, pray the Word, know the Word, or even spread the Word if we don't first read the Word. And our capacity to apply the Word effectively will be equal to our willingness to wait long enough in the Word for the Holy Spirit to come and enlighten our minds in its promises."
It is so hard for me to wait! I am okay with being in the Word - I just don't like to wait the time it takes to hear what God wants to say to me. Grrr!
Lord,
More than anything, other than your forgiveness, I need your wisdom! I always seek shortcuts to solutions and want easy, quick answers. But I am here to ask in faith. I believe you will give me wisdom for today, wisdom for its decisions, wisdom for my conversations, and wisdom for touching others with love.

The Expression of the Very Character of God
"Christ not only exists, He cannot be anything other than what He is. And He is all that He is all of the time. It is His nature to always be the things He is being right now; this is not temporary... Jesus came as the physical, actual, and original image of God (the very image of God originally intended upon man) to restamp us with God's image...Christ is the sum of all that God is like and about. The more of Jesus that permeates our being, the clearer the picture of Him will be [to the world]."
This one is so hard for me to understand! I want to be a clear picture of Christ to the world... it's hard sometimes to figure out how to get myself out of the way in order to allow Christ to be seen. It's reassuring to hear that this isn't about me and my work, but it's about God and HIS work in my life.
Lord,
I want your brand on my life. I want your mark and your presence to be clear through me. Permeate my being so that all people see when they see me is You!
